This exhibition will be the continuous exhibition series of 'fruit collection' first shown in 1999, by presenting various fruits such as persimmon, apple, pomegranate and tomato that are shown with pure rich colors that radiates strong energy and passion. In the middle of the gallery space, the sunlight reflects the colors of the red ripe apple. In the left side, a pumpkin, peach and apple is presented within dark backgrounds that makes a contrast illusion, which makes the viewer focus on the object. Each artwork looks as if it is drawn with precise description, but is mainly depicted with ruff painting strokes. Moreover, he enlightened us on a common sense that print was treated equally at the same level of painting in Korean modern art world where woodcut print is barren. He is a person of endlessly changing but not binding himself with a certain style with the current. He is also a representative artist who pioneered his own style with artisan spirit and intelligence of humanity with diligent efforts and serious attitude.
By drawing still life as if he is collecting fruits, Han, Un Sung not sees as edible ones but as living objects with life. In other words, vegetation is not recognized only as eatable provision but as living ones. Furthermore the artist points out the phenomenon of the distortion of the natural appearance caused by human's imprudent genetic manipulation. The development of the genetic technologies might cause deformation of the fruits however, Han, Un Sung collects them sincerely awaking us critical consciousness of a living creature.
