The Present 2002. 6. 7 - 21 -Three people's collaborative work-Communication- This exhibition has been planned and completed by three people, painter Jeong-soon Oum, architect Seung-moo Yang, and art critic Hunyee Jung. The important point of this project is that these three people didn't meet as professionals, painter, architect and critic, but they met each other as 'human being living in the modern era' so that they tried to make general point of view. Thus, this exhibition is far from a group exhibition, just showing each one's objects from their special field. It is a collaborative working which has been looking for how to communicate others through art with one common mind as we are 'human beings living together in art field in the same era.¡¯ As three people have worked together, they sometimes argued and sometimes consented, so they have moved little by little to the point, 'the art,' a common denominator. They looked at each other with a new point of view and made this show's theme, structure, and the outline of the images. If the communication between them has been failed or not, that isn't very important. The thing is, communication between three people has already started, and its traces has come out as an exhibition, and throughout this practice, communication will be continued over and over without ending. Viewers of this exhibition can see how three people have mingled each other into one as they break boundaries of each one's field. This show's title, <The Present>, means ¡°oneself in this present moment is the present.¡± At the same time, <The Present>, refers to the communication that has been just started between three exhibitors as well as a gesture making a meaningful conversation to viewers.
